BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — On Feb 16, Duane Peter, the County Judge of Brazos County, declared a local disaster for severe weather conditions.
As written in their press release, Judge Peter certifies that "severe winter weather poses an imminent threat of widespread and severe property damage, injury, and loss of life due to prolonged freezing temperatures, freezing rain and snow to the Brazos Valley."
The state of disaster shall continue for a period, of not more than seven days, from the date of the declaration, unless continued, or renewed, by the Commissioners Court of Brazos County.
In doing this, the emergency management plan shall be activated, effective immediately.
