BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — On Feb 12, it was announced the Brazos County Community COVID-19 Vaccination Hub will become a training site by the State of Texas for a National Guard Vaccination Task Force.

Starting the week of Feb 15, a team will be on-site during operating hours to shadow and train in all areas of operations. Each week following, new teams will be rotated through the Hub to train before deploying to other sites.

"The National Guard’s desire to learn our operations and replicate in other communities to increase vaccine distribution offerings is a testament to the amazing work of all of our partners and volunteers involved in the clinic’s operations." wrote Sara Mendez, Health Promotion Manager at Brazos County Health Dept.

Accordingly, the addition of these teams will support and augment their volunteers’ efforts within the Hub each week.

"While this may reduce the number of volunteers we need daily, the Hub will still need ongoing support from community volunteers to operate each week. Volunteers will continue to be notified about available shifts through the volunteer portal from the America Red Cross with updates." Mendez added.
