COLLEGE STATION, TX — Calling all fun lovers!

The Fun for All Playground in Stephen C. Beachy Central Park reopens Dec 30., and will be open daily from 8am-9pm.

With research suggesting about 25% of people in the seven-county Brazos Valley region live with a disability: the project became a collaborative effort for the City of College Station and the area Lions, Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. In 2014, these organizations came together to create an all-inclusive playground for individuals with limited means and the disabled.

The Fun for All Playground was created to serve various ability levels and incorporates educational aspects all while enjoying the outdoors.

Due to the size and cost of the $3.5 million initiative, the Fun for All Playground Steering Committee decided to build it in three separate phases.

In phase I of Aug 2019, a fenced area was created along with a large splash pad, multiple swing units, and a large climbing play area.

Now in phase II ,a 1/3-size Carolyn and John David Crow Stadium (a multi-sport athletic field with synthetic turf) was built. Restrooms, shower facilities, a sensory maze, wee-go-rounds, and musical play area have all finally completed conduction as well.

Phase III, will include a fishing pier, quiet area, and stick forest.
