$20 cleanings and screenings being offered by Blinn's Dental Hygiene Program in Bryan

BRYAN, TX — Attention Brazos Valley!

The Blinn College Dental Hygiene Program is offering $20 cleanings and screenings at its dental clinic at the following address:

301 Post Office Street Bryan, TX 77801

Said services, will be conducted by a Blinn dental hygiene student, under the supervision of a general dentist and dental hygiene faculty.

“Our students and faculty are dedicated to providing proper dental care,” said Dental Hygiene Program Director, Lisa Wiese. “With some people forgoing routine health treatments due to the ongoing pandemic, we want to make sure the community knows that our clinic is open for treatment.”

What you need to do before you go:

  • To make an appointment, call 979-209-7283 (se habla español)
  • Adult patients interested in a cleaning must first schedule a 30-minute screening appointment
  • Screenings are not required for children under 17
  • Complete Blinn’s self-certification prior to arriving on campus, by visiting HERE

During said screening, patients will complete a medical history and undergo a brief oral examination to determine eligibility for clinical care.

After the screening appointment, a Blinn Dental Hygiene Program student will be in touch shortly to schedule a treatment appointment.

Dental cleaning appointments will include:

  • Blood pressure screening
  • Head and neck evaluation to look for abnormalities
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Dental x-rays
  • Cleaning (including deep cleanings)
  • Sealants
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Oral hygiene instruction
  • Dietary analysis

After cleanings, each patient will receive an examination by a licensed dentist at no extra cost.

Will there by COVID-19 safety measures?

As stated by the Blinn Dental Hygiene Program, all appointments will follow the College, local, and State guidelines related to COVID-19 safety protocols, recommended, by the American Dental Association (ADA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Patients will be pre-screened and have their temperatures taken by staff before entering the clinic.

Patients also are required to wear masks at all times, except during treatment.

As part of Blinn's Division of Health Sciences, the Dental Hygiene Program educates students to become registered dental hygienists.

Upon successful completion of coursework, students receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and are eligible to take the National Board of Dental Hygiene Examination and a regional or state clinical exam.
