The Temple Police Department has identified a man and toddler who were killed after a shooting on Saturday.
Police said 28-year-old Santiago Jasso mishandled a firearm and accidentally shot 3-year-old Leonardo Martinez. Jasso then took his own life.
Police learned of the shooting during a welfare concern call at McLane's Children Hospital. Martinez was taken to the hospital but had died upon arrival.
Further investigation led officers to the 4700 block of Midway Drive where Jasso was found dead.
