In November, a China Spring family lost all their possessions in a house fire right around Thanksgiving.

On Thursday, neighbors, friends and a China Spring business came out to support the family with a pizza fundraiser that drew steady customers for some good, hot dishes.

Marco's Pizza in China Spring had busy Thursday night.

Sophia Brooks and her family came in for a special reason.

"We came in to buy some pizza to help the donations for the Hatfields," said Sophia.

This Marco's Pizza location donated 20 percent of all it earned, all day, to help the Hatfield family.

The November fire destroyed the family's home forcing them to start over with nothing.

"It's got to be terrifying, it's got to be overwhelming, and if we can help in any way, that's what we want to do,” said Bob Mock, Marco's Pizza owner.

The pizza shop had a steady stream of customers all day including friends and co-workers of Jim Hatfield, a Texas Ranger.

As the family starts to rebuild their life, Marco's Pizza and its neighbors stepped in to help.

"This is gonna help them, so that they're not having to reach into savings and things like that,” said Mock.

And Thursday night, that support kept coming.

The Hatfields tell us they're doing good and taking one day at a time. They also say they appreciate all the support they've had, and all the support makes Sophia Brooks feel good about her neighbors.

"I think it says that we have like a really great community that we care for each other when we're in a time of need,” said Brooks.

A need that pizza can party fill along the generosity of caring people who want to help.
