An investigation was launched on the Midnight’s Journey Animal Shelter after a tip from a citizen.
According to Jarrell police, they conducted an investigation along with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
When they visited the shelter on Dec. 7, they asked the owners to surrender 19 dogs after looking at the deplorable conditions.
The owner voluntarily surrendered the animals to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control, and the dogs were taken for proper care.
There were four warrants for cruelty to non-livestock animals issued on Dec. 17, and the owner turned herself in on Dec. 19.
The case will be prosecuted by the Williamson County Attorney’s Office.
