A Waco area teen won a $500 cash prize for her poster encouraging Texas drivers to “do your part.”

Autumn Stump, 14, is one of three winners for TxDOT’s “Live and Breathe Texas Kids Poster Contest.

Stump said her grandparents encouraged her to participate in the contest.

”I think it's a really good accomplishment for myself," Stump said. It's because of how young I am, I feel like I can always get better and it's a good opportunity for this to have happened now."

K-12 students, from all over Texas, submitted posters encouraging Texas drivers to consider emissions and help protect our Texas air and beautiful skies. Stump is the winner of the category for ninth through 12th grade.

The winning posters will be displayed in all Texas Advance Auto Parts stores and ASA-Texas member shops, throughout May 2019.

Winners received a framed copy of their poster along with a $500 cash prize at the ASA-Texas annual conference luncheon on Nov. 17.
