A dog trainer in Waco is up for a national title.
Felicia Foy is the owner of The Fur-tastic K9s. She's one of 22 dog trainers up for the 2018 Greatmats National Dog Trainer of the Year award.
Foy has been working with animals for the majority of her life. She started working with them at 15 years old and began working with them professionally more than 10 years ago.
Foy said animals helped get her through a rough childhood and she's grateful to give them a second chance to shine.
"It would be a dream come true for me. I never thought that I would be nominated for something like that," Foy said. "I don't do this for the fame. I don't do this for a title. I do this to help. I do this to help their pets."
This award recognized trainers who strive to make a positive impact on the lives of their clients and community as a whole.
Voting closes on Nov. 29. To vote for Foy, click here.
Foy is also competing in the World's Most Amazing Dog competition. Facebook users from more than 35 countries will have the opportunity to submit an “audition” video of their pet doing an amazing trick or routine for a chance to win $100,000.
