Ten men were arrested in a prostitution sting in Bell County.
The Bell County Sheriff's Department said on Friday that ten men responded to ads they posted.
Two men were active military, one man formerly with Waco ISD and one with a postal service in Copperas Cove, according to authorities.
The sting took place in the Killeen area.
The suspects arrested were:
- Terence Roberson
- Myrese Jennings
- Tony Shelton
- Keon Hill
- Aaron Johnson
- Robert White Jr.
- Norris Thomas Jr.
- Michael Rizzo
- Jason Marrow-Gibson
- Derick O'Rea
Tony Shelton was a tutor at G.W. Carver Middle School. He was fired Friday afternoon.
As a district, we hold all of our employees to a high moral standard. When we learned of Mr. Shelton's arrest, he was immediately terminated and is no longer a Waco ISD employee.
Deputies didn’t want to identify where the suspects worked, but they added that the majority are married, with some repeat offenders.
One man apparently planned to commit two crimes in one.
”This individual came in with five, twenty dollar counterfeit bills, and that’s how he was going to pay,” explained special crimes commander Lt. Michele Cianci.
Deputies said another brought a gun in his vehicle, but no money.
”Many of them we find are repeat offenders, so this isn’t their first rodeo,” Cianci added.
And apparently, that rodeo includes cowboys from Belton, Copperas Cove, Killeen, and even one visiting from Alaska.
Sheriff Lange says he will keep fishing, as long as the fish keep biting.
”Someday I hope we empty the pond so we don’t catch anybody like this,” he stated.
Meantime, he warns, those looking for sex are safer with police than they are with people who often time, wish them harm.
