Suspect arrested for murder of man found dead in Navarro County identified

The man who law enforcement says murdered a 36-year-old in Navarro County over the weekend was arrested on Sunday.

Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner said deputies received a call about a car on the road with a man possibly sleeping or unconscious outside of it on Saturday.

Responding deputies found the vehicle running, and the man dead with multiple gunshot wounds. The body was found on Prairie Star Trail off NE 1060 in Rice.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Salomon Lucio, from Haltom City.

Detectives investigated into early Sunday morning and were eventually able to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Rafael Borroel, 34, who has been charged with murder.

Borroel was arrested without incident by Navarro County deputies and Fort. Worth police officers on Sunday. He was taken to the Tarrant County Jail.

On Monday, he was moved to the Navarro County Jail.
