The Democratic candidate for the Texas Senate seat is headed to Texas A&M University and Baylor University on Friday, Oct. 5.

Beto O'Rourke will speak to over 10 colleges in the matter of a week. He will be at Rudder Auditorium in College Station at 11 a.m. and at Common Grounds in Waco at 2:30 p.m.

O'Rourke Facebook lived his trip to A&M.

Republican incumbent Ted Cruz was scheduled to speak at A&M on Friday at 8:30 a.m., but had to cancel due to Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Cruz and O'Rourke are leading a tight race - with recent polls showing them only single digits apart. Texas has not been blue since 1994.

O'Rourke made headlines over the weekend after Willie Nelson closed out his rally in Austin. Over 55,000 people came to the rally, where artist Leon Bridges also performed, according to the campaign.

The general election is Nov. 6, 2018.
