Former football coach and athletics director Jack Welch will receive an $80,000 payment in a resignation agreement with Copperas Cove Independent School District.
In April, the Copperas Cove school board unanimously accepted the resignation of Welch.
In the agreement, Welsh will retire from public education and will remain on paid leave through May 1. Welsh has also agreed to grant the district with a license to use the Bulldawg logo for the next ten years.
District officials said that spring football practices are canceled and multiple sources confirmed coach Welch has cleared out his office.
Welch’s brother, Tracy, used to be the offensive coordinator at Cove but left earlier this month for the head coach/athletics director position at Lake Worth high school.

Repeated attempts have been made to get in touch with Welch for further comment on the story, but so far he has not responded.
