The Temple Police Department said they are investigating a suspicious refrigerator that was left outside a Cricket Wireless location near 31st St. in Temple.
The Temple Police Department said the refrigerator is plugged in and a hazardous label is placed on it. After being investigated, the mini-fridge was found to be empty.
The McLennan County Bomb Squad arrived Wednesday afternoon on the scene to help with the investigation.
On Wednesday morning, Cricket Wireless called the police to say a fridge had been left outside and it was plugged in, but that they hadn't ordered a fridge.
Three schools were on a soft lockdown but it has since been lifted. The schools affected were Travis Middle School, Dickson Elementary School and Scott Elementary School.
Temple police said that residents that were evacuated in the two block radius to go to the Summit Recreation Center located at 620 Fryers Creek Circle.
Temple police said a Fort Hood team is investigating to make sure the package is safe to remove.
