The Groesbeck Fire Department will be conducting a fill-the-helmet fundraiser this weekend to support an injured firefighter.
According to a Facebook post from the department, members voted to hold the effort to raise money for probationary firefighter Matt Koncaba last night.
This Saturday, starting at 8:30 a.m., firefighters will be out at major intersections in Groesbeck to gather donations. The money will go to helping Koncaba financially as he recovers from a wreck at University Hospital in San Antonio.
