The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office said that a man and a child’s body was found in a private lake on 4000 Telluride Way, northwest of Bryan.
The child’s body was found Wednesday night, and the man’s body was recovered Thursday morning.
Deputies received a call that the child and man were missing after going fishing.
A search of the area as well as the pond was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of; Bryan Fire Department, Brazos County Pct. 4 Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Department of Safety, and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
Deputies said it appeared that no floatation devices were used and the boat capsized, and eventually sank.
The child was 3 years old, and the man was 21 years old. The 21-year-old has been identified as Omar Martinez.
Preliminary reports indicate both subjects died as a result of drowning. The investigation into this case is ongoing, and no foul play is suspected.
