The Harker Heights Police Department is investigating after two men were shot and killed at a club early Saturday morning. The victims have been identified as 42-year-old Dexter Prather from Waco and 27-year-old Damion Hopkins from Colorado Spring, CO.
Police said it happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. at Club Empire on West Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
Sgt. Stephen Miller said Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown pronounced two men dead.
Miller said the shooting happened as a result of a fight inside the club.
When officers arrived, they secured the area and identified everyone at the club, including those who were leaving, Miller said.
On March 7, Olishea LaShawn Smith turned herself into the Harker Heights Police Department for the shooting. She was charged with murder.
