Two families were displaced after an early morning duplex fire.
The flames broke out around 2:35 a.m. at a duplex near old FM 440 and Baldwin loop on Wednesday.
A neighbor called 911 after seeing heavy smoke coming from the building.
One part of the duplex was completely destroyed, but the family was out on vacation at the time.
The other section wasn’t completely damaged, but was flooded due to firefighters putting the other fire out.
Both families are currently displaced.
More than a dozen firefighters worked for an hour to put out the flames.
No one was hurt in the fire. Killeen fire officials are currently investigating the cause.
