Temple firefighters put out vacant house fire

Temple firefighters are investigating the cause of a vacant house fire.

According to Temple Fire department, the flames stated after 1 p.m., at Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association, 1717 Eberhardt Road. 

Firefighters say smoke was coming from one corner of the wooden-frame abandoned home.

As units worked to extinguish the flames, they encountered a swarm of bees living inside a wall of the house. One firefighter was stung, but not injured. Crews were able to contain the fire and bees using firefighting foam.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 

No injuries were reported.
