MILAM COUNTY, TX — Two men have drowned while fishing in a stock tank Sunday.

Authorities were called out to private property in the 2400 block of CR-139 in northern Milam County around 3:30 p.m.

The Milam County Sheriff's Office says two men walked into a medium-sized stock tank to fish and did not make it back to shore.

The men have been identified as 22-year-old Traion Smith and 30-year-old Desmond Williams of Temple.

What started as a rescue mission has now turned into a recovery. Authorities located Smith's body Sunday and recovered Williams around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

Both families have been notified.

The Milam County Sheriff's Office says the incident appears to be a "tragic accident."

The Texas Department of Public Safety, Milam County Sheriff's Office, Cameron Volunteer Fire Department and Texas Game Warden responded to the area.
