TROY, TX — Officials are responding to a scene involving an 18-wheeler that caught fire on southbound I-35 in Troy around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday.
The incident occurred near Mile Marker 308 when the driver of the 18-wheeler heard "a strange noise" and pulled over.
After he got out of the vehicle, the truck became fully engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported.
Officials have closed down the right and center main lanes as they work to clear the scene.
Lanes are expected to be closed for one to two hours -- or until about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Texas DPS advises drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
