HILLSBORO, TX — On December 29, 2020, around 5 in the morning, an 18-wheeler was engulfed in flames at a Love's in Hillsboro.

The driver of the 18 wheeler, Walter Naylor, was asleep in the parked vehicle when another driver woke him up to get him out.

Naylor says he got out to see his refrigerated trailer, also known as a reefer, was smoking and attempted to extinguish the fire from underneath.

Naylor was able to keep the fire under control long enough for the two trucks to pull away. Both trucks were damaged by the flames but not as severely as the main 18-wheeler.

The cause of the flames is not yet known and no one was injured.
