TEMPLE, TX — A home and RV were damage during a fire Christmas Eve.

Around 7:14 p.m., Temple Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire in the 500 block of South 29th Street.

First arriving crews found heavy smoke coming from the exterior of a home, as well as smoke and flames from an RV that was parked nearby.

Firefighters discovered that the fire made its way up the side of the wall and into the attic of the home.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames, with the fire being fully extinguished and out by 8:22 p.m. Temple Fire & Rescue says obstructions inside the home made accessing the area of the fire difficult.

The home owner was not in the home at the time of the fire, and two occupants were able to escape the RV uninjured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Temple Fire & Rescue responded with a 2-Alarm Response, having nine fire department apparatus on the scene, carrying a total of 22 personnel.
